This brief survey of the origins of indo-European religion based on the authorīs Introduction to his recent book ``Atman`` (Georg Olms Verlag, Hildesheim, 2005) Studies the first formulation of the cosmocentric religion of the ancient Indo-Europeans as revealed by the archaeological and literary evidence.
It investigates the identity of the original races that constituted the Indo-European family as well as the location of the original homeland of the Indo-Europeans and Aryans, and offers an outline of the cosmological framework of the original religions.
In his Epilogue to the work the author discusses the crucial differences between the polytheistic religions of the Indo-Europeans and the monotheism of the religions deriving from Judaism.
